There are many different areas that I work in within the property market and traditionaly, work comes in from marketing, word of mouth and referrals.

It may be a case that you know of someone that is looking to sell a property, has some land that they may want to develop, may need finance or a mortgage, perhaps a solicitor. When I am not directly offering my service to a client I refer this work to professionals that can carry it out and this normally pays some sort of referral fee.
